Chapter 22 "The Shock"

September 17th, 2000

Tany and Cinita were both sleeping in the bed. 

Scott put down his suitcases and smiled. He knew Tany got lonely sometimes.

He stood there a moment watching Tany sleep. Cinita started to stir and wake up.  Scott slowly walked out of the room. 

He was sitting at their kitchen bar, drinking some coffee,  when Cintia walked out.  "What's up?" 

"Hey, I thought you weren't going to be in until tomorrow?" 
"Yah, we had some weather issues." 
"Wow, so you flew here this morning?" 
"Of course! Where else would I go?"  Cintia pondered that a moment, before she asked, "Do you ever get tired of it?" 
"What?" 
"The flying back and forth?" 

"Sometimes but then I remember I get to see you and your sister." he said, softly punching her.  She giggled and walked over to the refridgerator, she pulled out a carton of milk and made herself a bowl of cereal. 

"Now that you are up, mind if I go take a shower and get out of these clothes?"  With a mouth full of cereal, "Mo I don car." She continued to eat. 

He got up and went into his bedroom to take his clothes off.  Tany was still asleep.  He loved how she always looked so peaceful.

After his shower, he had gone into his bedroom again to get dressed, Tany wasn't there.  He knew Cintia would have told her he was there.  He put on a pair of sweat pants and walked into the kitchen. 

Tany was sitting at their bar, drinking coffee.  She looked a little tired but he knew she would be awake after she showered. 

She looked up and smiled, "I thought you weren't going fly out until tomorrow night?" 
"I went over this with your sister, who I thought would have told you," he stated giving Cintia an accusitory look. 
Cintia shrugged, "She didn't ask." 
"We had some bad weather and it wouldn't go so they delayed filming a few days." 
"Oh, so you only have a couple of days?"
"Yah, I am afraid so." 
"Ok, well I am going to take Cintia to Disneyland and then I don't know." 
"Can I come?" 
"Do you want to, You will be the lone rider?"  "Nope, because I just happen to know that Johnson is also off for a few days." 

"What, how do you know that?"  Looking at Cintia, "I am magic."  Cintia smiled and then laughed. 
"Scott!?" 
"What, my love?" 
"How do you know?" 
"I told you, I am magic," he said waving his hands. 
"Whatever, I need to take a shower, before we do anything."  Tany got up and left the room.  Scott leaned over and whispered, "I just ran into him, he is going to be here in about a half an hour."

Beth was looking at wedding dresses. Her mother had mailed her a bunch of wedding magazines.  Al was brushing his teeth and they would be going to do some shopping.  One thing Al liked was he didn't have the noterity his brother or sister had.  He could go where he wanted, whenever he wanted.  Although he did get recognized sometimes, it was nothing like Jonny one time.

Jonny was filling up his car and two teenage girls were looking at him.  Jonny felt a little weird.  He didn't know what to do, so he went about his business. 

Finally one of the girls came over, "My cousin over there," pointing to the other girl, "says you are Jon S. Connors."  The way she said was more of a statement than a question.  "Uh, What if I am?"  "Nothing, just that she would love to get your autograph."  Jonny did give her an autograph.  She was so happy, she cried.  That is what Jonny and Tany pretty much face all the time, especially now.  But not Al and Beth, so they were going to take advantage of this gorgeous L.A. day.  Beth was dressed and ready to go.  It was something she had done for Al, that way he wasn't waiting on her. 

She decided to turn the tv on, just for some noise.  "And for Entertainment news, Cheryl Kaiman, ex-porn star was killed in a car accident last night.  Sources say she was heading down highway 5 when she alledgely lost control of her vehicle and went under a Semi.  Cheryl had divorced Jon S. Connors earlier this year and a source from her camp says she was just getting her life back together."  Beth just stood there.  How was Jonny going to deal with this?

Johnson knocked on the door.  Scott answered it, "Dude, turn your TV on."  "What, why?"  "It's Cheryl man."  Tany saw the look in Johnson's eyes and turned the TV on.  They too heard the news about Cheryl.  All of them were standing there when the phone rang, Tany jumped.  She looked at Scott, he knew she was thinking it was Jonny.  It wasn't it was Al. 

"Yah man we are watching it right now."  Tany couldn't hear Al, which always bothered her.  "Yes, of course, dude."  There was a slight pause, which is really rare for Al and Scott.  Then, "You bet, yeah alright man, let me know if you want or need me to do anything.  Ok, later."

He hung up and looked over to Tany.  Her heart sank into her stomach.  They were literally getting ready to release there second album and now this.  She remembered what happened when they released "Miracle".  Jonny had nearly overdosed and almost killed himself and he had to go to re-hab.  He was doing so good.  Tany dreaded seeing her brother, she knew this was going to kill him.

Jenny and Jonny were still in bed, they had a late night last night and just wanted to sleep in.  The phone started to ring, Jenny jumped up and went to turn the alarm off.  Jonny thought that was cute. 

He answered the phone, "Jonny, have you seen the news?"  It was Al.  "What, no I was sleeping, Bro."  "Ok, Well Jonny I got bad news and It isn't going to be easy."  "Dude what is it, is it Tany?"  "No, She is fine. Man it's Cheryl." 

Jonny didn't want Jenny to see him panick so he got out of bed and went into the bathroom and he closed the door.  "Wh-what about Cheryl, Al?"  "She was killed last night in a car accident."  Jonny dropped the phone and slid down the wall.  He didn't know what to do. 

"Jonny....... Jonny?"
