Chapter 18 "The Steps"

July 20th, 2000

Scott apologized to Tany, but all Tany would say was, "It's ok."  Scott wanted to make love to her, but she wouldn't in his parents house, she just couldn't do it.  They were now on a boat heading to the Island.  Scott had his arm draped around Tany's shoulder, trying to shield her from the wind.  He liked Tany's new hairstyle.  It wasn't long and it wasn't short.  He also liked the color.  Tany and Scott were both wearing sun glasses.  Of course this wasn't going to help shield them from all the paparazzi, but maybe they would have a little privacy.  Tany thought about asking Scott, how much farther, but decided against it.  Scott was worrying why Tany wasn't really talking to him.  She had been quiet since the plane.

Scott looked down at Tany, "Are you alright."  "Yes, I think so."  Tany had never been on a boat before, and she was kind of sick to her stomach.  "You look green."
"I feel green."
"We are almost there, I think."  He said shrugging.  Tany just sank deeper into Scott's grip.  He held on to her tighter.

They arrived on the Island and Tany was shocked at how absolutely beautiful it was.  She wanted to take pictures right away, but Scott told her they would get settled in and then he would show her around a little.  It wasn't extremely hot either.  Which Tany thought that was odd.  She followed Scott up the path to their bungalow.  When Scott opened the door, she was in shock.

It was small and made of bamboo, but it was nice.  It had a small kitchen and a couch.  Scott took the suitcases into the bedroom and Tany continued to follow Scott.

She fell on the bed, she had never slept in a bed this soft.  She wondered if she would be able to.

Scott jumped on top of her and they made love.  She had no worries, no pressure to sing her best, no pressure to get "The Connors" name out.  It was just her and Scott.

After they both had a shower and had eaten.  Scott made them lunch.  They sat out on the deck watching the waves and enjoying the view.

"This is absolutely beautiful." Tany said taking a deep breath.  Scott turned toward her, "It sure is, Say, I have a question for you?"  She slowly turned her head toward him, "I might have an answer."  "Ok, Do you want to move to the next step?"  Tany pondered it for a seconds and then responded with, "You mean move in together, Right?"

Scott who was thrown a back by her question, he just nodded.  She smiled, "Alright, how do you feel about it?"  He sat up, and put his hand on hers, "Tany I want to, but I don't want you to do anything you don't want to."  "We pretty much have already, I mean my clothes aren't there, but I practically stay there all the time."  "So I guess my next question is do we live in my house or find another?"  Tany gave Scott a very quizzical look, "What is wrong with your house?"

"I was just thinking, maybe we could live in an apartment or something."  "Ok, is your house haunted or is it something else," she said raising her eyebrows.  "No, nothing like that, Tanz.  I just want to house shop with you.  That's all."  Which Scott wasn't being honest with himself or Tany, He still remembered how she met Calvin and how Jo-Beth lived there.  It's not like Tany and himself weren't together, or like Tany brought any of this up.  Which she never did.  It was just Scott having a little insecurity.  He didn't want it ever to be an issue.

"Ok, well I guess when we get back, we should go house hunting, not shopping, Scotters.  You are such a man."  She laughed.  "Yeah, you are such a woman, Tanz." He got up and pulled her hand forcing her to get up.  They kissed.

Tany was laying in the bed.  It was so soft she didn't want to get out of it.  She could hear Scott in the bathroom, he was taking a shower.  Tany could smell the ocean and how different it smelled from Long Beach. She needed some coffee before she even was able to move.

She was wondering what time it was.  Scott's side had the clock.  She rolled over and saw it was a little past eight.  Psyching herself up she sat up and got out of bed.

She had to use the bathroom, so she knocked softly.  Scott answered with, "I wonder who that could be, come in."  She opened the door and went over to the toilet.  She could see in the mirror, Scott showering.  She became aroused. She shook herself from it.  She finished her business and went to start a pot of coffee.

Scott came out a few minutes later.  Tany was looking at some brochures, "What's the plan today, there Salior?"  "Ha, Ha, I was thinking maybe we could go snorkeling, have you ever gone before?"  "Nope, but it sounds really fun."

"And then maybe after that , We could go horseback riding?."  "What, Scott are you sure?"  "Yes, because it touched me, when you asked to learn to surf, and I thought maybe I would learn to ride a horse."

"Scott, oh Scott, you don't have to if you are uncomfortable."  "Tanz, I wouldn't do it, if I didn't want to. You are going to learn how to surf, then I am going to learn how to ride a horse, besides I can put that on my resume'."

Scott and Tany headed out to surf.  Tany was shaking in her boots, well no more like her bare feet.  Tany was trying very hard not to show Scott her fear.  It seemed to be working.

He showed her a little bit about surfing, explained how the board worked and what her body would do.  Scott thought she did very well, for a first timer and she seemed to be getting over her fear.

At around 3 they went snorkeling.  Tany was looking around and had wished she had bought and underwater camera.  It was absolutely beautiful.  She was kinda sad when they had to quit for the day.  But she knew they would get to go horseback riding.  She missed it, and she needed to do it more.

She was excited for Scott to learn.  When they got there, Scott got the deposit back for the other horse.  Tany showed Scott the ropes so to speak.  She explained everything he needed to know about horses. She helped Scott and she got on.  And they went for a ride. Scott was scared out of his ever loving mind.  He didn't show it of course, but he was afraid.  Tany found this to be very sexy, he was trying something he was afraid to do.  He must have gotten over his fears because he literally was enjoying himself.

During the vacation they went water skiing, which was super fun.  Both were really sad to say goodbye, but both were happy to get home to start the house hunt.  The first major step.

Here are some pictures taken on their trip:

  2. Tany and water don't really mix so yeah she was getting seasick. I am glad this chapter is over with. Because Scott is too hot for me. That shower scene just about drove me nuts. Wait no pun intended.

    Thanks for reading Zhip!!

  3. It's good that Scott and Tany had some time to spend with each other and away from everyone else. Looks like they may be ready for the next step!

  4. I think they are. They have been dating for nearly a year at this point. I can't wait for you guys to see their apartment. It's one from LN but I just love how small it is. But I furnished it myself and you will see a few things from Scott's and a few things from Tany's.

  6. I think they are, they need to live together for a little while. I think Scott is trying to get his career going before he even thinks about asking her. Don't forget, she was 19 during this last episode and he's 21. So I think it maybe a little bit longer. But we shall see.

Tany did need to get away. She just needs sometime to be herself, away from Jonny and all his drama.
